The We.K.End Company is a London based Korean hip hop crew. It was founded as a collective of rappers and producers and other artists in 2017, at the heart of UCL, and now has expanded to include all Korean artists based in the area. We make all our songs from scratch, from the instrumental to the lyrics and the recordings. The songs we have provided for NOBUDAM is in line with the theme, and is intended to be thought provoking while at the same time light hearted.

1. 'The Alchemist' by Sunghwan Choi (최성환)

‘The Alchemist’는 Grove Road Records의 수장 Sunghwan Choi, 최성환의 작품입니다.
청춘과 돈의 의미를 다루는 이곡은, 강한 엇박의 재즈풍이 묻어나고, 영국적인 음악 색깔이 진하게 담겨져있습니다.

‘The Alchemist’ is a track by Grove Road Records CEO Sunghwan Choi.
The piece explores the clash between youth and wealth, through the use of a simple off-beat jazz sample and thick British colour in the rapping.

2. '혼자서' / 'By Myself' by DORYAN (송민창)

​

'혼자서'는 The We.K.End Company의 수장 DORYAN, 송민창의 곡입니다.
부모님에게 남기는 편지를 곡으로 담아낸 것이며, 모르고 낮선 환경이라도 혼자서 잘 이겨낼 수 있다라는 다짐을 전해드리는 가사입니다. 비트는 기타랑 베이스가 깔려있으며 희망적인 분위기입니다.

 

'By Myself' is a track by DORYAN, the leader of The We.K.End Company.
It is in the form of a letter that has been turned into a song, and it contains personal assurance to one's parents that everything will be okay despite their child being away from home. The beat has a strong guitar and bass signature, with a very hopeful atmosphere.

3. 'TO PROSE' by K.E.G (김유진)

'TO PROSE'는 K.E.G, 김유진이 직접 제작하고 쓴 곡입니다.
장르는 역시나 K.E.G답게 불명확하지만 낭만주의적인 테마는 여전히 가사에 박혀있습니다. 이 곡의 제목 'TO PROSE'는 '하염없이 말하다'라는 뜻으로 어느 청년이 잊지 못하는 여성에게 느끼는 복잡하고 엇갈린 감정들을 가사로 담아낸 것입니다. 곡은 자기 없이도 행복을 빌지만 조금은 기억에 두어달라는 말로 마무리가 지어집니다.

 

'TO PROSE' is a song produced and written by Eugin Kim aka ‘K.E.G’.
Its genre is as mysterious as it is to every other song produced by k.e.g yet the theme of hopeless romanticism remains embedded in the lyrics. 
The title “TO PROSE”, defined as ‘talking tediously’, portrays a young man’s complex, dilemmatic and problematic feelings for someone who he is unable to forget. The song leads to a tragic end where he wishes her to be happy without him, but to have a little remembrance of himself.

4. '바람' / 'Wind' by TAEOH (김태오)

바람은 사랑에 대한 노래입니다. 남자의 잘못으로 헤어진 전 연인에 대한 기억을 솔직하게 풀어낸 가사를 잔잔한 트랩 비트위에 풀어냈고 본인의 경험을 바탕으로 쓴 곡은 아니고 만약 제가 그런 입장이였다면 어떨까 상상해보며 쓴 곡입니다.

 

Wind is a love song. It is about a broken relationship due to the fault of the man, who unravels his honest feelings through the lyrics over a calm trap beat. It's not based off any true stories, it was just from imagination of such a scenario.

'THE SAD SONG'은 김유진이 쓰고 Dekadic (양찬영)이 프로듀싱한 곡입니다.
잊지 못하는 사람에게 바치는 곡입니다.
곡은 사랑이랑 감정의 복잡함을 담아내며 인연에서 흔히 일어나는 의사소통 문제를 말합니다. 낙관적인 비트 위에다 적은 슬픈 가사는 사랑에 빠지면 나오는 망상 증세의 느낌을 전달합니다.

"영화 한편처럼 시작하거나 끝나는건 없어... 영화는 그냥 영화일 뿐이야."

A typical sad love song dedicated for someone you cannot forget. 
The song tries to explain the complicacy of what defines love, and the miscommunications that occur in every relationship. The contrast of sad words and upbeat music, a sense of delirium can be noticed.
