High school seniors in South Korea / 고3

A3

I want to show the reality of Korean high school seniors who prepare for the National Scholastic Ability Test for College Admittance. They say that even the family members cannot have any easy and relaxed time. once they have a senior student. In South Korea where more than 80% of the high school students enter the universities, the competition is beyond imagination. Doubtlessly, I find this pressured situation abnormal and hopeless. Nonetheless, I still don’t want to be too pessimistic. That’s why I tried to show the undisciplinable energy and potential of teenagers and the exit from the frustrating system at the same time. Since the terribly-old corridor still had the wooden floor, it could be expressed like the surface of water. Who says that the school is for the students? They, or we, are not rooted firmly. Without knowing where to head to, we are just floating on the surface or sliding by each other like zombies.
